USE CASE #5
Enhancing Machinery Data Sharing Across Europe
- Countries: BE, FI, SE, PL, DE, FR
 - Lead Partner: EV ILVO
 - Other Partners: LUKE, FINFOOD, DSE, RISE, Agronod, PSNC, AEF, FNSEA, WODR, JR, SJV

This Use Case establishes an operational data space for machinery data, linking it with field data (parcels, soil, weather), usage data (fuel consumption, operating hours), and environmental measures. Starting with datasets from potato and cereal farming (soil cultivators, planters, sprayers, harvesters, etc.), it connects to platforms like Agronod (Sweden) and eDWIN (Poland), expanding cross-border reach.
Objectives
Improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime by integrating machinery and field data.
Support sustainable farming through monitoring of fuel, fertilizers, and water use.
Enable transparent subsidy management and sustainability reporting.
Technology in Action
Federation with DjustConnect, CDAF DSI, Tritom, AgIN, Agronod, eDWIN, WALLeSmart.
≥30 datasets across 7 EU countries, accessible via REST APIs.
Includes parcel, soil, fertilisation, machinery and fuel-use data.
Impacts
Economic
Higher efficiency and market reach; supports subsidy management.
Technological
Cross-platform interoperability; use of analytics and shared standards.
Environmental
Reduced input waste; improved monitoring of soil and crop health.
Societal
Faster advisory and payment processes; stronger farmer-industry collaboration.
