Use Cases

CEADS demonstrates the value of the Common European Agricultural Data Space through 8 core Use Cases. These real-world pilots test and validate CEADS services, showcasing how trusted, interoperable data sharing can benefit farmers, researchers, businesses, and policymakers across Europe.

Use Case #1

Agri-environmental and accountancy data for monitoring farm performance

Countries: NL, ES, PT, EL, FR, BE, DE, IE, IT
Focus: Combine farm, environmental, and accountancy data to improve monitoring, sustainability reporting, and decision-making.

Use Case #2

Research and innovation data for improved AI algorithms performance

Countries: FR, IT, ES, BE, PL
Focus: Share research datasets across crops and livestock to train and validate advanced AI models for agriculture.

Use Case #3

Certified data to secure farms’ environmental sustainability

Countries: FR, BE, PL, RO
Focus: Enable certification processes by exchanging verifiable data on farm practices and sustainability compliance.

Use Case #4

Genetic data for animal production improvement

Countries: AT, DE, FR, BE
Focus: Use livestock genetic data to enhance breeding, production efficiency, and animal health.

Use Case #5

Enhancing machinery data sharing across Europe

Countries: BE, FI, SE, PL, DE, FR
Focus: Support interoperability of farm machinery data, reducing vendor lock-in and enabling cross-border services.

Use Case #6

Using data spaces for risk management in agriculture

Countries: IT, FR
Focus: Integrate climate, crop, and insurance data to improve agricultural risk prediction and management.

Use Case #7

Cross-sectoral data for sustainable agrotourism

Countries: PL, ES, FR, BE
Focus: Link agriculture with tourism, energy, and mobility data spaces to create new rural development opportunities.

Use Case #8

Climate resilience, nutritional, and traceability data for a sustainable wine industry

Countries: LU, ES, IT, FR, EL, PT
Focus: Connect viticulture data with nutrition, climate, and traceability to strengthen resilience and transparency in wine production.

Expansion

CEADS will launch at least one Open Call to add 12 new partners (≥4 AI-focused) from the EU Member States not yet represented, introducing new Use Cases and ensuring pan-European coverage
